6 Ways to Determine a Strong Market or Demand for your Product/Niche

When determining a niche - assessing ways to determine a Strong Market for your Product or Niche is essential before you put time in. Many entrepreneurs can invest a lot of time energy and enthusiasm only to find that the demand is not there. No matter how much your passion for an area- you are not able to influence others long term without a market. Here are some practical ways:-

1.       Check Keywords people are searching on. One of the most recommended tools is http://www.freekeywords.com/wordtracker. You may then want to either slightly change your product or use terms that are more highly sought on.

2.       Ebay is now reported to be getting bigger than Google and can be a great source of information as to where people are buying. Check how many shops there are in your niche market . The same applies to Paypal. 

3.       Observe Forums you are part of and see if people are talking about products they have purchased. If not this may tell you people are not really interested in buying in this area

4.       Monitor Google AD word adverts and see if advertisers are keeping ads on there for some time. If so this may indicate a good demand.

5.       Surveys and R&D teams can provide valuable information as to what your market would purchase and in what form. You can offer a reward of some sort to provide an incentive

6.       Start a blog and assess traffic. Strong traffic can show there is a lot of people  looking for solutions in that niche market.

Biblical Purpose to Life

 

ExcitDelighted to be working with my coach and in a mastermind group on my purpose for my business at the moment. If you are out of work or are considering a new direction, working on your purpose can be a great place to start. Going back even further and considering your spiritual purpose can be very important as this drives how we approach life. If you have not considered your spiritual purpose in life here are some thoughts.

 

Here are some of the purposes that are made clear for us from the bible. Take time to consider your response to each.

                1.     We are planned for God's pleasure.

                 2.     We are formed for God's family.

3.     We are created to become like Christ.

 

4.     We are shaped for serving God.

 

5.     We are made for a mission.

 

1.         Planned for God's pleasure

This is all about friendship, relationship with God, becoming best friends with God, and knowing how to connect and hear from God in a personal way. We bring great delight to God through our relationship with Him. We were not primarily created to serve God.

2.         Formed for God's family

We were created to be part of the family of God, where we can belong, experience life together, restore fellowship, and work together. This is often called the Church but can take other forms too. Being in some community is vitally important to fulfil your purpose.

3.         Created to become like Christ

Part of our mission is to transform our character to be more godly, to bring honour to Christ, and also to influence the world. We can often do more through our character than our works. Getting to grips with the Bible and allowing your lives to be transformed by difficult circumstances is also a key part of life.

4.         Shaped for serving God

Warren talks about understanding our shape and using the talents God has given us as part of our key purpose on earth. Thinking like a servant can help us focus on what God wants from our lives and not what we want.  When we give we get more from life.

5.         Made for a mission

Living life with purpose entails finding out your mission in life. This is not just in terms of sharing Christ but also viewing the whole of life as a valid mission. We were made for purpose, and without this, life can become meaningless.

 

What element do you need to work on most? Commit to one area now.

1.       What do you love to do, in your spare time and at work?

2.         What parts of your present job or life do you really enjoy

3.            What roles, causes, objects, people are you passionate about?

4.         What do you naturally do well?

5.         What do others think you are good at?

6.         Is there a demand for this niche and product?

 

How do I undertake Market Research for my idea?

 Research the top 10 Sites that show up on Google for your keywords and ask the following 7 Key Market Research Questions:

1. Who is the company and principal of the company?
2. What products and services are they trying to sell?
3. At what price point are they offering these products and services?
4. Who are they targeting? What are the demographics of their target audience?
5. How are they delivering their product and service?
6. How are they positioning their product and service?
7. How are they promoting their product and service?

Create a one-page document for each company that summarizes the key questions and then one final executive summary of all 10 sites comparatively. Use this information to create and position your own marketing strategy.

LIFE PURPOSE PRINCIPLES by Jane Johnson ( Excerpt from Home Study Course " Find your Life Purpose)

1.        EVERYONE HAS A LIFE PURPOSE - it is not just for the elite few

You were born with a unique DNA and a distinctive way of expressing this. Everyone has a unique purpose. It is not just for those we deem as special or heroic.

You may have a number of ways of living out your Life Purpose; some will be longer lasting than others.

2.        SOCIETY MAY PULL YOU AWAY FROM YOUR LIFE PURPOSE RATHER THAN SUPPORT YOU

Often society will tempt you to work for the wrong reasons that are not aligned with your purpose. By knowing your values, you can make sure you are not being pulled away.

3.      LIFE PURPOSE IS FOUND WHEN OUR UNIQUE PASSION AND MEANING INTERSECT WITH THE NEEDS OF SOCIETY

When we are able to discern where we get our meaning from, and both our personal and work life are aligned with a recognised need, then we can live out our Life Purpose.

4.      LIFE PURPOSE MUST EMBRACE OUR EVERYDAY WORK

We spend the majority of our time at work. If we do not find our Life Purpose in our work, we have missed the point.

5.      LIFE PURPOSE IS NOT JUST DEFINED IN TERMS OF YOUR JOB

It is important to find a Life Purpose that encompasses all areas of your life. Without this, your life will be compartmentalised and you will not generate the passion and energy that could be gained from allowing your Life Purpose to transcend all areas of your life.

6.        FINDING YOUR LIFE PURPOSE IS A JOURNEY OF AWARENESS THAT MAY TAKE MANY YEARS

For a few, life purpose is clear from a young age, although the application of it often needs to be worked out. For some this can be a long process that needs to be worked on and attention devoted to, leading to greater self-awareness and discovery. Do not be discouraged if you are finding this difficult. Many experience the same.

 7.      LIFE PURPOSE MAY INVOLVE USING GIFTS / TALENTS THAT WE HAVE NOT YET DEVELOPED

Life Purpose is not instinctively tied to what we can do naturally. We may need to embark on working out our Life Purpose and develop talents along the way to harness our purpose. Sometimes this can seem confusing, as there is a tendency to think we have to be gifted in aligned areas.

8.      LIFE PURPOSE MAY NOT INVOLVE ALL YOUR STRENGTHS

There may be strengths that you chose to use purely in a recreational capacity. This is OK. Often we can find refreshment in doing something completely different in our rest times. We are not wasting those strengths, but purely choosing to focus in a more narrow area.

How to determine if a niche is strong enough:

Are there enough prospects?

Are there enough hubs where these people congregate?

Are they willing to pay?

Is there pain in this niche?

Is there a lot of competition around?

Are they underserved in some way?

 

Write out your answers to these questions fully or do some research before coming to a conclusion. You may also wish to consider a coach to ensure you have thoroughly thought this through.  Many can rush into a niche and expend their enthusiasm, money and time on an ill-conceived niche that is more often than not passion driven and not demand driven.

• Wants to Connect their Spiritual life with their business or start a spiritual element to their lives.
• Wants to live out their highest purpose for their life
• Aware of the needs in Society and is beginning to get clear what contribution they can make.
