New Year is typically about setting ourselves new challenges and deciding what direction to take. I have just been setting some big goals for myself in the Contribution I want to make to society.
This blog is the first part of an article we have in one of our Membership rooms " Why Give" on our membership site that looks at what you want to do with your life and how you may measure wealth, success and fullfillment. Part 2 on different ways we may contribute will be in the next blog. Remember we have only 35 Charter membership slots at the introductory price and there is a FREE TRIAL for a limited time.

IS IT YOUR TIME TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO OTHERS? by Jane Johnson, President of Contribute Your Wealth.
Have you reached a time in your life when you have received a lot in terms of success and lifestyle and are looking for a new way you can get more fulfilment and significance in life?
Maybe it is time to consider how you may give of your time or money or leave a legacy from your life to make a worthwhile contribution to those less fortunate.
Why would you want to enter into the realm of giving?
One reason is because we receive when we give and usually in far greater measure. Imagine what it feels like to someone, in desperate need, when they receive even just the smallest gift. Not necessarily a physical gift, it may be a gift of love, a learning tool or a new skill, which will enable them to go out and earn a living.
Lets take some time to consider some definitions that may be relevant to your decision.
Was does “Wealth” mean?
To some, wealth is purely and simply being able to enjoy a stress free life. For others, it may be waking up each morning and going to work, facing an action packed day which may, or may not, make them lots of money, and for some it may be that they can go out cruising in their 60ft cruiser for weeks on end. So wealth does not have to mean holding on to money. But deciding what wealth means to you is important.
For those in the west, we are all extremely wealthy regardless of our income levels. If you have a bed and a roof over your head you are wealthy when we consider the whole worlds population and a large proportion are malnourished
What does it mean to have Fulfilment?
This too, is another word that conjures up a different emotion within different people.
Feeling fulfilled is an emotional state, rather than a financial state, and often those that have worked so hard for so many years have often not developed their emotional connections to those not so fortunate.
How would you like it, if you could use your wealth (whether it be wealth in finances, or wealth in knowledge) and generate enough energy to start and manage a project for those in need. This would truly be a chance to experience how your skills and advice can positively change the life of others.
Do you think this would give you a purpose in life, and how would you feel to see the results you have achieved?
If your heart is really behind a selected project, you can often feel the fulfilment that you have been looking for. So giving can lead you to focus on the needs of others and so put your own issues in perspective or forget about them altogether.
Does “Success” mean money?
We tend to think of someone being successful if they are at the top of their chosen field, or if they are heading in that direction. But funnily enough, there are many people who have worked their way into a situation of financial freedom, but when they look back at their life, they are not feeling extremely fulfilled by what they have achieved.
It is good to consider your definition of success so you have a measure for yourself. For many their definition can change over the years to be more altruistic.
Many a self-made entrepreneur has had to fight their way to the top by self-motivation, self-analysis and being prepared to learn from others.
Is it your time to share these abilities with others?
Giving is the essence of the sole.
When we are busy building up successful businesses there is usually not enough hours in the day for the family, never mind even thinking about what we can do for others.
At about the 40-50 year age mark people start wondering what there is to life, and why they have been working so hard. Quite probably the children have left home and all of a sudden there is a void. A “what do I do now?” scenario.
You may well be asking:-
“What can I do, that would involve me in the amount of time that I have available, and that would give me the satisfaction of being a strong contributor?”
This will be answered in the next Blog but this is the purpose of the Contribute Your Wealth Club to provide resources for this purpose so check out http://www.ContributeYourWealthClub.com for a FREE TRIAL.
